Here's something quick, easy, and simple to do by yourself or with a group of the neighborhood kids.
Paper Mache!
We will use a snowman as out example for this particular project. it's messy and very hands on.
Ingrediates needed:
Ball up some newspaper to make three different sized balls for the snow mans body. Tape them as you go holding the structure together. Mix flour and water until u get a thick glue like consistency. if you live in a humid area add salt to the mixtures to prevent molding. Also a touch of cinnamon will add a delightful scents. Lay down newspaper under your working surface (it will get messy) and have a rag waiting.
Dip the strips of paper into the mix, use your fingers to wring out the excess and slowly start to cover the taped up balls. Two layers should be sufficient. Wait for the first layer to dry completely before adding the second layer. if you keep the strips smooths, the final product will be smooth, if you make the paper wrinkly it will dry as so.
After both layers are dry, paint and accessorize as you please. You can sculpt a carrot nose and arms from crumpled up pieces of paper the have the mix on it and take them on. Use more paper mache to cover the tape or just paint over it.
Enjoy!!!!!!
