Shelving is Essential.
Crafters everywhere know there isn't ever enough room for all my stuff (crap, in the heat of the moment). So when we go reorganizing and rearranging our work spaces, we might need to look at it from another angle. Old shelves or broken furniture can be used. I personally, hold onto certain objects because of their sentimental value. However, that can also be furniture and quickly take up space. So I’d like to share with you the few things I did when rearranging my room this time around. Try any of these out!!
- First, any bookcases, or floor shelves have the possibility to be up against a wall freeing more floor space. I flipped my old one upside-down, add a piece of wood and Walla, Lots of shelving and space beneath. Plus I added a hook or two to dangle some objects.
- I saw an old dresser being thrown out, so I grabbed a few of the drawers. For visual pleasure, I quickly glued a map and pages of a book into the bottom of the drawer. They are then drilled into the wall, above the window to hold my random trinkets.
- Years ago, I rebuilt and reupholster a school chair. It has a side desk attached, however it's too small to ever utilize. So I decide to drill a board onto the bottom of the legs. Then I drilled it into studs on the wall. This creates 3 shelves minimum and the fun conversation of having chairs on the wall.
- I didn't grab pictures for these shelfs, but I’ve used a book as a floating shelf and a wooden box as a shelf/iPad stand.
