Id like to slow some of the steps and transformation my projects turn into. Aspects always change. The starting idea isn't always the finished product. I didn't think to photograph the steps until steps were already taken, but its my first attempt at this kind of thing so its all mighty fine with me.
It started with an empty coffee maker and the clear coffee pot that sat in it. Instantly i saw this scene, colors, textures, depth, even heard the story line. But like a good novel, we can't skip to the end before we even start.

Stage 1ish
This is the closest picture i took to show Stage 1; the empty pot. The two humans were sculpted from clay and painted by me, the bench is wire work and minor wood work, and the two dogs were hand made by another artist (It was a gift and i don't know who created them). Wooden post would have been a tree.
Stage 2- change begins
Alterations start. As i created the wooden post tree, i felt it could look cooler. So i scraped that project and went with a wire tree painted two tones. Slight color was added, minor pink bushes brighten up the scene. At this stage, the pond had just received a layer of sealer to prevent the "realistic water" from seeping too deep into the rocky bottom.
Stage 3- New additions
During this stage, the realistic water was poured into the pond, but first i has to make and paint four orange koy fish. Since fish were being added, i made some other animals to keep them company.
With some Fimo clay, an oven, and some acrylic paint, out came a skunk. Adorable animal, who receives a bad reputation, but i love them!
What pond isn't accompanied by ducks! A baby duck sleeps curled up as the big duck stays alert and protective.
Stage 4- Spring is here
Camera broke before i could take photos, but I'm going to try my hardest to find a replacement camera before i continue too much.
Found a new camera! So i can show all the color that was added. Considering the blooming flowers, i needed to make the tree luscious as well. UH-OH, like all projects, things went wrong!
After a few days of setting, my realistic water did not agree with the modge Podge underneath. So i tried a back up plan and poured a layer of colored water over the pond. Major down side is the fish are not visible anymore. I will monitor how it sets and go from there.
Stage 5- run through
I added a little humor to the situation. A small visitor has come to watch this beautiful moment for humans. The figurines were put together and glued where necessary until they are ready to be set in place in the scene.
water cleared up and everything is perfect.
